LD Carlson Potassium Bicarbonate is an acid reduction powder used in winemaking to lower excessive acidity in wine or must. It reacts with tartaric acid and helps form potassium bitartrate, which can then precipitate during cold stabilization.

Use: Add before fining when acid reduction is needed. The package directions call for approximately 1/3 teaspoon per gallon. Cold stabilize after treatment, then rack off the tartrate precipitate.

Important: Make small trial additions before treating the full batch. Potassium bicarbonate is intended for modest acid adjustments rather than large corrections.
