Weyermann® CARAFA® Special Type 1 is a dark-roasted specialty malt made from high-quality spring barley. Where malt-based bitterness is not desired, Weyermann® CARAFA® Special Type 1 is a perfect fit. As the de-husked version of CARAFA®, it produces rich color, body, flavor and aroma with reduced harshness and roasted bitterness compared with conventional dark-roasted malts.

Grain preparation
You’ll be prompted to select your grain preparation before checkout. Milled grains are packaged together. Separate packaging is available for unmilled grains only.
We use a spike mill and our standard gap sizes are .05-.06 for traditional false bottom setups and .03-.04 for use in BIAB.
