TRUEBRÜ American Pale Ale is an aromatic, balanced pale ale built around the fruity character of Omega DIPA Ale, commonly known as Conan. Numerous hop varieties are layered in small additions throughout the brewing process, each chosen to complement the yeast.

The result is an aromatic pale ale with notes of peach, apricot and pineapple, accented by a subtle tropical bubblegum note. A light malt backbone and balanced bitterness bring it all together, keeping you coming back for another flavorful sip.

Briess Brewers 2-Row and Briess Pale Ale malt form the base, with Weyermann Munich I, Briess Caramel 10L, Bairds Crystal 50/60 and Briess Carapils adding light bread, biscuit, restrained caramel depth, body and head retention.

This recipe is designed around approximately 68% brewhouse efficiency. Its targets sit comfortably inside the style guidelines, giving brewers some room to run slightly above or below the expected efficiency while still producing a true-to-style American Pale Ale.

Flavor Profile

Peach, apricot and pineapple lead the way, with a subtle tropical bubblegum accent from the interplay of Conan yeast and the layered hops. Light malt support, balanced bitterness and a smooth finish keep this pale ale flavorful and easy to enjoy.

Make It Your Own — Optional Dry Hop

The kit’s boil additions and 172°F hopstand provide layered hop flavor and aroma without requiring a dry hop. Feel free to experiment with a light dry hop if you would like. Based on our experience, Mosaic and Nectaron play especially well with Conan’s fruity character and make a great pairing for this beer.

Optional dry-hop additions are not included in the kit and should be purchased separately. Follow the supplied brewing schedule with the included hops, then add your own light dry hop if desired. The base recipe targets approximately 40 IBU.

  • Complete printed recipe card with grain bill, hop schedule, water volumes, fermentation guidance and style targets

Follow the measured hop schedule included with the kit. After brewing, you will have approximately 0.5 oz Centennial and 0.5 oz Amarillo remaining. We keep the factory hop packages sealed rather than opening and repackaging nitrogen-flushed hops.

YEAST IS NOT INCLUDED AND IS SOLD SEPARATELY.

Recommended liquid yeast: Omega OYL-052 DIPA Ale, commonly called Conan. This recipe is built around its peach, apricot and pineapple character, which complements the layered hop additions. Choose Conan for the intended fruity profile.

Clean liquid alternative: Omega OYL-004 West Coast Ale I for a cleaner, more neutral fermentation that keeps the focus squarely on the malt and hops.

Recommended dry alternatives: CellarScience WEST COAST, CellarScience CALI or SafAle US-05. These cleaner alternatives will produce a different fermentation profile and will not reproduce Conan’s distinctive fruity character.

Water salts are not included. The recipe is designed around reverse-osmosis water and includes the target water profile and measured salt additions on the printed recipe card.
