The JaDeD Brewing HYDRA™ is a high-performance immersion wort chiller built for brewers who want extremely fast chilling without the cleaning and clogging concerns of a plate chiller. It uses three separate 25-foot sections of 3/8" OD copper tubing running in parallel, giving you a total of 75 feet of copper cooling surface.

Under JaDeD’s test conditions, the HYDRA can chill a 5-gallon batch from boiling to 68°F in about 3 minutes using 58°F tap water, and it can bring the entire batch below 140°F in roughly 45 seconds. Actual performance will depend on your cooling-water temperature and flow rate.

The Tall HYDRA version is designed for taller kettles and keggles, with the feed lines extended to better fit deeper brewing vessels. Like the standard HYDRA, it uses solid brass 3/4" garden-hose fittings and soldered connections rather than compression fittings to help reduce potential leak points.

Cleaning is simple: place the chiller in the boil for the final 10 minutes to sanitize it, chill the wort, then rinse it clean afterward. No pump, backflushing, or internal sanitation is required.
